SAMPLE CLEARANCE "I've just created a new song which uses a tiny two bar loop of the bass line from Parliament's composition "Atomic Dog". Is that O.K.?" No, you can't use samples from copyrighted compositions and/or recordings unless you have a written and signed agreement with the original publisher and the record label. You must contact all publishers of the sampled work as well as the record label. If you are not experienced you should hire a sample clearance company who will help you to get the clearances done. Please be aware that we are not a sample clearance agency, but a music publishing administrator that handles sample clearance for our existing catalog only. For clearance request for samples associated with Bridgeport Music Inc., Southfield Music Inc., Bloomfield Music or Rosuki Music, please complete the Sample Clearance Form and send it to us together with a CD of the new work.
