THE TRUE STORY OF THE OHIO PLAYERS Click Here To Order Right Now! Greg Webster was there for the formative years of the band, when gigs were for small crowds in Dayton, Ohio. Greg tells the reader about the breaks the band got, when they travelled to larger and larger cities, when the one and only James Brown walked on stage to perform with the "Players," and other great moments in the band's story. No punches are pulled in the book, and the adult reader will find his style and honesty refreshing and entertaining! Greg Webster was born in Hamilton, Ohio in January, 1938. Among the other famed bands he has played with are Lonnie Mack, The Buddy Webb Group and John Thomas (who made the hit tune, "Heartbreaker"). At the present time, Greg operates Daysville Productions and C-Boy Records. He plays with the Connie & Kenny Group, The Reid Brothers, and Rod Wilson, in his jazz/gospel group. We are pleased to have Greg's book available to provide his kind of detailed retelling of the story of The Ohio Players, beginning with their early, formative days as the Monarchs through the years as The Ohio Untouchables and then on to the greatness as a hit-making and always entertaining band. |
